Male Victim Assaulted with Sharp Object at Condo Building on Trace Drive, Buffalo Grove

Man injured in assault with sharp object at condominium building on Trace Drive in Buffalo Grove, just north of Dundee Road.

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 11:08 p.m. Saturday November 9, 2019 to a report that a person was cut at the front door of his second floor condo unit.

Firefighter/paramedics staged nearby while Buffalo Grove police officers secured the area, and were allowed to move up to the scene of the injured man by 11:20 p.m. The injured man was transported to an unspecified hospital. Drops of blood on the floor and blood smears on walls and doors were visible on three levels near a stairwell at the south entrance of the condominium building.

Police investigated the scene and worked to gather security video from nearby shopping centers for several hours into Sunday morning. After sunrise, police canvased the neighborhood, looking for any potential witnesses.

A task force was dispatched to investigate the scene, and a witness said he noticed a Highland Park police unit at the scene around 1:00 a.m. The Major Case Assistance Team van was NOT seen at the scene, and a decontamination and restoration crew was cleaning up the scene by about noon.
