Boy Age 15 Stabbed in Thigh at CTA Red Line Belmont Stop Near Bemont Ave and Sheffield Ave, Chicago

Chicago police, firefighters, and paramedics responded about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday November 20, 2019 to a report of a stabbing at the Belmont CTA Red Line Stop, in the block of 900 West Belmont Avenue near Sheffield Avenue.

Rescuers discovered a 15-year-old boy was stabbed Wednesday night at the Belmont Red Line stop. The 15-year-old boy was reportedly stabbed by an unknown suspect in the thigh. He was transported to Lurie’s Children’s Hospital where he described in “stable condition.”

Chicago Police said two groups of males engaged in a verbal altercation which escalated to violence.

Initially, no suspects were in custody. Chicago Police Department Area Central Detectives are investigating.
