Man in Critical Condition Following Single-Vehicle Crash at Route 22 and Miranda Lane, Long Grove

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and Long Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:10 a.m. Sunday October 13, 2019 to a report of a serious crash involving a single vehicle. Lake CountySheriff’s Deputies and Long Grove firefighter/paramedics arrived and found the driver of a 2007 Toyota Sienna unresponsive in the vehicle after striking several trees. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and initiated lifesaving efforts until firefighter/paramedics from Long Grove Fire Protection District took over treatment.

The driver, a 63-year-old male of unincorporated Deerfield and sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was listed in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation shows the man was driving the Toyota Sienna eastbound on Route 22 at a slow rate of speed. For an unknown reason the driver veered across the roadway into the westbound lanes, into the ditch, and struck several trees.

The crash investigation is being conducted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the crash investigators are working to determine if this crash could be medically related.
