Destructive Tornado in Dallas, Texas Sunday Night — Near Southern Methodist University North of Downtown Dallas

Dallas police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:30 p.m. CT Sunday to multiple reports of injuries and severe damage to homes and commercial buildings after at least one tornado hit north of downtown Dallas.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado was on the ground in northern Dallas. The tornado was first reported near Dallas Love Field Airport.

Over 116,206 residential and commercial electricity customers and were without power at 11:13 CDT, described as a Major Power Outage by poweroutage.us. In Oklahoma, 14,175 customers were without power.
