Palatine Police Seek Help Identifying Arson Suspect After Vehicle Fire at 1 Renaissance Place, Palatine

Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:55 p.m. Sunday September 8, 2019 to a report of a truck on fire in the back parking lot of 1 Renaissance Place. A witness reported seeing someone run away from the vehicle before the fire. Firefighters on arrival reported a fire coming from the fuel tank.

An investigation determined the fire incident to be a case of arson. Palatine Police investigators were able to obtain photos of a suspect from nearby video surveillance cameras (see below). The suspect is described as a male/Hispanic, approximately 25-30 years of age, 5’8“ to 5’10” tall, with a medium to heavy build, and wearing a black jacket and black pants.
