Identity Released for Cicero Woman Killed When She Was Hit by a Metra Train Near Arlington Park

Pedestrian hit and killed by Metra train near Arlington Park, Arlington Heights accidentally walked too close to tracks.

The death of a pedestrian that was hit by a Metra train Tuesday evening just west of Arlington Park in Arlington Heights was ruled an accident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner. Daisy Diego Rebollar, age 29 of Cicero, died as a result of multiple injuries suffered about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday August 27, 2019 when the train struck her near the Arlington Park train station, 2121 West Northwest Highway. The scene was located approximately one-half mile west of Wilke Road, authorities said.

Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:04 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019 to a report that a pedestrian was hit by a Metra train on the UP Northwest line just west of Arlington Park Racetrack.

Police investigated the scene and some lanes of eastbound Northwest Highway are blocked while firefighters and police are still on the scene.

Trains in the area were stopped in both directions with extensive delays affecting the Metra UP Northwest Line. Train 637, which has a scheduled departure from Ogilvie Transportation Center at 5:06 p.m. Has a scheduled departure from downtown Arlington Heights at 5:49 p.m. and from Arlington Park at 5:53 p.m. Train 637 had apparently departed from Arlington Park just before the accident occurred.
