HAZMAT UPGRADED TO A 2ND ALARM
Barrington police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:49 PM Saturday August 3, 2019 to a report of an odor investigation outside at the Barrington Village Hall, 200 South Hough Street Barrington, Il. Firefighters elevated the response to a General Alarm and then a MABAS Division 4 Box Alarm on Box #36-4 for a Hazmat response for a chlorine leak at the Barrington Village Hall.
OFFICIAL “SPECIAL ALERT”
Saturday, August 3, 10:18 pm: Police and Fire are currently on scene at Village Hall for a minor hazmat situation. Residents in the immediate area are currently being notified. We provide updates as they are available.
Firefighters Carpentersville, Cary, and Wauconda were assigned to assist Barrington Fire Department.
EMS crews from Arlington Heights and Fox River Grove were also assigned to assist Barrington Fire Department.
Hazmat techs from Algonquin, Buffalo Grove, Countryside, Crystal Lake, Fox Lake, Fox River Grove, Grayslake, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Mundelein, and Round Lake were also assigned to respond to mitigate the hazardous material with Barrington Fire Department. Other specialized crews were also assigned.
Other area fire department crews were also assigned to stand by to cover other calls in the Village of Barrington.
Hazmat techs from Deerfield, Huntley, Lake Forest, Libertyville, McHenry, Nunda, Spring Grove, Waukegan, Woodstock were assigned to the 2nd Alarm Hazmat Box.
