Fire and Explosion in a Semi-Trailer Truck at Loading Dock on Arthur Ave South of Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect; Smoke Spreads Through Arlington Heights Neighborhoods

VIDEO: Fierce semi-trailer fire with explosion and collapse near factory loading dock on the north side of Multi-Pak chemical packaging company, Mount Prospect.

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:43 p.m Wednesday, August 7, 2019 to a report of a fire in a semi trailer truck at Multi-Pak Solutions at 1804 West Central Road in Mount Prospect.

Wind is from the southwest and smoke, possibly hazardous smoke, blew from the southwest to the northeast across Northwest Highway into neighborhoods in Arlington Heights. Residents who may have been outside and got caught in the smoke should probably get those clothes washed as soon as possible and not leave clothing unwashed in any living area inside your house, especially if you can smell the smoke odor on the clothing.
