Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Much of Northern Illinois; Forecast Arlington Heights, Chicago Weather Forecast Northwest

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was activated at 11:45 a.m. and covers most of northern Illinois and The most severe thunderstorm complexes are expected to move through the northern and central areas of the Chicago metropolitan area — most likely between 12:300 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Storms that have already been associated with 40-50 mph winds and tree damage, may become more severe as they become more unstable with sun-heated, warmer air from the south. Storms should arrive in northern McHenry County and northern Lake County by about 12:20 p.m.

Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows thunderstorms moving south-southeast, just passing Madison over most of the width of Wisconsin at about 11:54 a.m.
