Arlington Heights Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Bull Valley Rd Near Blackberry Dr in Bull Valley

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and Bull Valley Police Department responded about 11:45 p.m. Saturday June 22, 2019 to Bull Valley Road near Blackberry Drive to a report of a motorcycle crash. Police and firefighter/paramedics discovered a crash involving only a motorcycle and a male rider.

Woodstock firefighter/paramedics transported the man to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. The man died early Sunday, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

The McHenry County Coroner’s office released the identity of the man as Esteban “Steve” Tellez, 42, of Arlington Heights. An official cause of death was not initially determined and was pending a final autopsy report, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. When the autopsy was completed Sunday, information about the cause of remained withheld.

The Bull Valley Police Department is investigating the crash. There is a sharp curve in the road in that area, which may have contributed to the crash and which is a site of frequent crashes. Bull Valley Road is a narrow two-lane road with curve warning sign of 15 MPH.
