INTERVIEW WITH BRENDAN BIALY: “THERE’S FAR MORE GOOD IN THE WORLD THAN BAD”
CNN’s Scott McLean talked to the parents of 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo was killed while rushing the Highlands Ranch, Colorado school shooter. John Castillo says that he was not surprised by his son’s heroic act.
Classmates of Kendrick Castillo told his father that Kendrick is a hero because he rushed at one of the shooters, which made it possible for other teens to escape from the room.
Some students, including Brendan Bialy and an IT teacher attempted to save Kendrick Castillo with CPR chest compressions.
One of the teens involved in trying to take down one of the shooters was Brendan Bialy, a senior who is enrolled in the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program, the 8th Marine Corps District confirmed in a statement.
The adult suspect, 18-year-old Devon Erickson, accused of opening fire inside the STEM School Highlands Ranch in Colorado appeared in court Wednesday May 8, 2019. Erickson is being held on one count of suspicion of first-degree murder after deliberation and 29 counts of attempted first-degree murder after deliberation.
Erickson and the second shooting suspect, 16-year-old Maya McKinney, a transgender male, named Alec, were both held without bond.
