Increasing east winds will develop as a low pressure over the Front Range of the Rocky Mountain moves east toward the central Great Plains tonight. Winds of 30 to 40 MPH from the east are expected overnight and through 10:00 p.m. Thursday. Peak wind gusts of 38 to 40 MPH are forecast 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning. There is a blizzard to the northwest of the low pressure in South Dakota, western Nebraska and southwest Minnesota.

Thursday: A chance of showers before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 4pm and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 65. Breezy, with an east wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers. Low around 45. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 15 to 20 mph becoming west southwest after midnight.
