Bloomingdale, Army Trail Rd Kidnapping Suspect in Custody, According to Bloomingdale Police

According to a Bloomingdale Police Department announcement at 8:30 p.m. Saturday March 23, 2019, a suspect accused of kidnapping on Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale was apprehended and is in custody. A press conference with the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office is planned for Monday, March 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. after the suspect appears in the morning bond court. Certain limited details may be provided at that time.

Saturday morning, the Bloomingdale Police Department asked people to call 911 if they saw a male suspect that matches the image they released of a male that kidnapped a woman at gunpoint in Bloomingdale.

A 21-year-old woman said she was abducted at gunpoint at about 4:30 p.m. Friday March 22, 2019 from a parking lot in the block of 300 West Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale. She said she was forced to drive to “a number of locations” in Glendale Heights and Elgin. The woman reported she was released in Bloomingdale.

Bloomingdale police said the man fled in a taxi to the area of Roosevelt Road and Clark Street in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood.

The suspect is described as male/white, in his late 30s, unshaven, with a thin build and receding hair. Before he was apprehended, he was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark maroon hooded sweatshirt with white lining inside the hood, according to the Bloomingdale Police Department.

The Bloomingdale Police Department criminal investigation section is following up on leads in the case, and is working with the Elgin Police Department and the Chicago Police Department.
