A new Arby’s is scheduled to open in a standalone building at the site of the former Wendy’s at 100 W. Rand Road in the Arlington Plaza shopping center. The building was originally built in 1984, and is being upgraded to Arby’s color scheme and other specifications. The Arlington Heights Arby’s is expected to open in February or March 2019.
There are two other Arby’s restaurants nearby in Palatine on Northwest Highway north of Palatine Road and in Rolling Meadows on Golf Road west of Algonquin Road. The nearby restaurants are open 10 AM to 11 PM on most days, but are open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The quick-service fast-food sandwich restaurant chain is a subsidiary of Inspire Brands, which was formerly named Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. Inspire Brands, Inc. is a privately-held business owned by Roark Capital Group with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The headquarters are scheduled to move to Sandy Springs, Georgia this year. Inspire Brands, Inc. owns Buffalo Wild Wings, Rusty Taco and Sonic Drive-In.
The Wendy’s Company sold 12.3% stake ($450 million) in Inspire Brands back to Inspire Brands in August 2018.
Many Arby’s locations continue to feature T.J. Cinnamons (owned by The Wendy’s Company) despite the fact that Inspire Brands owner Roark Capital Group (though its subsidiary Focus Brands) owns rival Cinnabon.
There are about 3,400 Arby’s restaurants worldwide.
