Libertyville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:52 AM Monday November 5, 2018 to a report of a house in the block of 1400 Newgate Court Libertyville, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire in an attached garage. Police were first on the scene by 8:54 am. and reported heavy black smoke showing. A fire crew reported a header visible during their response to the fire, which was just across a bike path in Libertyville Township Open Space District — Butterfield Road. The house fire was located at a house on the corner of Newgate Court and Brandywine Road.
The first fire crew reported smoke and fire showing on arrival. Fire command assigned the Tower Ladder crew to set up immediately upon arrival.
A MABAS Division 4 Box Alarm on Box #46-20 was activated for a house fire. A MABAS Box Alarm to the 2nd Level was activated at 9:22 am. The extra alarms brought firefighters from about over 15 neighboring communities.
A neighbor rescued a dog in the house and a resident at the house suffered a minor injury.
The fire destroyed the attached garage and extended to the attic of the house. The living floors of the house sustained heavy smoke and water damage.
