8 Dead, Several Others Shot At Pittsburgh “The Tree of Life Synagogue” in Squirrel Hill

Eight people have been killed and several more injured after an active shooting, mass shooting incident at The Tree of Life Synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood in east Pittsburgh on Saturday October 27, 2018, according to a report from KDKA-TV News CBS Pittsburgh. Three police officers were shot.

Early reports indicated that a shooter walked into a Synagogue at 5898 Wilkins Ave, Pittsburgh about 10:00 a.m. Saturday and declared “All jews must die.” The breaking report is that shooting began in the basement and the suspect, who was reported to be crawling and injured, may have surrendered on a third floor and is in custody.

An offender shot at police officers when the police force arrived on the scene where a group of people were attending a Saturday service (weekly Shabbat service), and were reported to be attempting to shelter inside the Synagogue.

Carnegie Mellon University, located nearby, is in lockdown.
