Beecher police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:20 PM Friday September 21, 2018 to a report of a hazmat involving a rollover semi-trailer tanker, Church Rd or Eagle Lake Road and Dixie Highway Beecher, Il. Fire command activated a Hazmat Box Alarm — MABAS Division 27 Box Alarm on Box #4099 for a Hazmat incident involving a rollover semi-trailer tanker at 4:47 p.m..
The tanker, which is resting on its passenger side, is reported to have been transporting gasoline (#1273).
Evacuations were ordered in the area; and staging of firefighters is 4 miles north of Church Rd on Dixie Highway.
There is a subdivision, CVS Pharmacy, Beecher Manor senior nursing care center, Tony’s Pizza, Walt’s Food, Beecher Fellowship Baptist Church, and Dave’s Pro Collision in the area.
At 5:15 p.m. winds were NW 10 MPH and air temperature was 70°F. At 4:55 p.m. winds were 14 MPH with gust to 20 MPH.
