Lake County Flood Waters Force Drivers To Abandon Cars; Concrete Barrier Collapses at Route 45, Libertyville

During storms in Lake County cars became stuck in high flood waters on the side of the road after storms continued in a series in the area over the Labor Day Weekend.

A truck was submerged in a parking lot in Highland Park.

A woman’s car was stuck in a viaduct in North Chicago, where she was rescued and transported to the hospital.

A Lake Forest segment of Route 41, which is commonly the subject of flooding, was flooded this weekend.

Muller Subaru in Highland Park rushed to move their cars before the heavy rains caused flooding.

Route 45 was closed between Peterson Road and Route 137 in unincorporated Libertyville when a cement wall collapsed under a Metra railroad bridge.
