Storms were weakening as the moved west to east past I-39 but are holding together as they approach the northwest suburbs. Frequent lightning was visible in the west about 11:05 p.m. Additional rain of at least 0.5 to 1.0 inch is likely between 11:45 p.m. and 12:45 a.m. in Arlington Heights. Last night, just under 2 inches of rain fell in central Arlington Heights.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows a long line of storms approaching from west to east in a long line from north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to south of Bloomington, Illinois. Some of the stronger storms aligned to hit Mundelein, Lake Zurich, Palatine, Long Grove, Bartlett, Elgin, Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, Arlington Heights, Wheeling and Mount Prospect.
