Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle at Algonquin Rd and Weber Dr, Rolling Meadows

Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:26 p.m. Thursday August 23, 2018 to a report of a man hit by a vehicle on Algonquin Road and Keystone Court. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a pedestrian was still down in the roadway after being hit. Police first on the scene requested firefighter/paramedics to expedite.

A 43-year-old Rolling Meadows man was struck and killed. He was identified as Enrique Vazquez-Trejo of the block of 2200 Algonquin Parkway nearby. Police reported the victim was struck by the vehicle at Algonquin Road and Weber Drive at 9:26 p.m.

Algonquin Road was closed to thru-traffic from New Wilke Road to Route 53 during an extended accident investigation.

The Rolling Meadows Police Department and Cook County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team are investigating the crash. The speed limit on Algonquin Road is 35 MPH in the area of the crash scene.

Initially no information was released about the vehicle involved, or whether there were any initial citations.
