Illinois State police and Palatine, Arlington Heights and Long Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:33 PM Friday August 31, 2018 to a report of a crash with injuries, 42.150307, -88.013262 (Route 53 Nb and Lake Cook Rd Palatine, Il). Palatine Engine 82’s crew on arrival reported no entrapment. Palatine Battalion Chief 8 reported four vehicles involved, with two transports and several medical refusals.
Palatine Ambulance 81 and Arlington Heights Ambulance 4 each transported a patient to Northwest Community Hospital.
The crash was located in the northbound lanes of Route 53 about 1500 feet south of Lake Cook Road. Northbound traffic was backed up just past Rand Road at 3:25 p.m. when towing crews were working to clear the vehicles from the expressway.
