Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:45 PM Thursday June 28, 2018 to a report of a house fire at 250 Cottonwood Drive Elk Grove Village, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a vehicle fire in an attached garage. An Elk Grove fire crew responding to the scene reported a smoke header while responding. Police, first on the scene, reported flames showing from a vehicle in attached garage.
The fire department response was upgraded to a Code 4 “working fire” by 2:47 p.m.
Firefighters received a report that all residents and pets were safely out of the house.
Firefighters hit the garage with a strong water supply, and stopped the fire from severely affecting the house. Firefighters were checking for extension from the attached garage to the 1-story home, and were dousing the garage to prevent a re-kindle.
