Police received a report that a female teen driver hit a parked vehicle on northbound Dryden Avenue near the athletic parks of St Viator High School.

The driver of a black late model Ford Escape hit a parked white late model Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The jeep Wrangler Rubicon was parked on the northbound curbside and received minor to moderate left rear damage to the bumper and rear fender. The Wrangler appeared to have fared well, absorbing the force of the crash with minimal damage. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon starts at about $33,000 to $34,000.

The Ford Escape received moderate damage to the right front bumper and fender. The Ford Escape starts at about $23,000. There were no initial injuries reported.

There were several teen girls, apparently from St Viator High School, milling about on Dryden Avenue immediately following the crash with motorists in traffic attempting to pass the crash. Dryden Avenue, which is a secondary north-south thoroughfare in Arlington Heights, was congested at the time with vehicles parked on both sides of the street.

The cause of the crash with a parked car was not initially known, and it was not initially known whether any citations were issued.
