5-Vehicle Crash Involving Rollover Vehicle and A Semi-Trailer Truck on NB Route 53 Near Lake Cook Rd, Palatine

Illinois State Police and Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:50 PM Thursday April 26, 2018 to a report of an extrication crash involving five vehicles, a rollover and a semi-trailer truck, 42.149993, -88.012905 (Route 53 Nb and Euclid Ave Arlington Heights, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that one person was trapped, and that the crash involved five vehicles, a rollover vehicle and a semi-trailer truck.

Engine 82 and Ambulance 82 crews on arrival report all lanes blocked, 6 patients with one male already extricated by 4:00 p.m.

Ambulance 82 crew transported one patient to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

Northbound traffic on Route 53 was blocked past Dundee Road.

A third ambulance was requested to the scene about 5:25 p.m. after a patient or patients, who initially refused medical attention, decided to go to the hospital. Ambulance 84 was assigned to approach in the southbound lanes of Route 53 to the scene south of Lake Cook Road. Patient transfer was possible across a grassy median at the scene.
