Person Hit by Car on Inbound Dan Ryan South of 31st St Chicago — All Lanes Shut Down for Investigation

Dan Ryan Expressway Pedestrian Hit

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:21 PM Wednesday March 21, 2018 to a report of a person hit by a vehicle, 41.837531, -87.630294 (Ib Dan Ryan Expressway and 31st Chicago, Il Chicago, Il). Battalion Chief 2 reported a person was hit by an auto in the center lane of the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway just before 31st Street.

IDOT also on the on the scene, and Battalion Chief 2 reported inbound lanes and local lanes were completely shut down.

Inbound traffic was backed up past 40th Place at 8:30 p.m.

Ambulance 35’s crew transported one patient Code Red to Level I Trauma Center Cook County Stroger Hospital.

Engine 19’s followed the ambulance with two crew members onboard the ambulance by 8:34 p.m.

Battalion Chief 2 reported all lanes are shut down for an accident investigation.
