Flatbed Semi-Trailer Rolls Backhoe/Excavator at Route 31 and Rakow Rd, Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:20 p.m. to a rollover crash involving a short dump truck hauling a backhoe/excavator on a flatbed semi-trailer. The trailer appear to hit the curb while turning from southbound Route 31 to westbound Rakow Road. Southbound Route 31 and westbound Rakow Road were reduced to one lane during the recovery of the vehicles.

Crystal Lake police alerted citizens of the crash on Nixle at 4:58 p.m., gave an all clear update at 7:57 p.m.

Cary, McHenry and Crystal Lake firefighters were also working a grass fire near Oakbrook Estates mobile home park about the time of the crash.
