Living at the amazing Billabong Sanctuary near Townsville Australia Banjo is one of many Koalas that call this location home. While it is true that Koalas are undisputedly cute the crew were in for many surprises when meeting this particular arboreal marsupial. For one, male Koalas excrete a musk that smells like cheese, or “cheese its” as Mark “eloquently” claims. In addition to this pungent odor, did you also know that Koalas actually possess the ability to roar? Have a listen.

Did you know Koala Bear is an inaccurate name? Their actually known as Koala or Phascolarctos cinereus.

Koalas typically inhabit open eucalypt woodlands. The leaves of these trees make up most of Koalas diets. Because eucalypt leaves have limited nutritional and caloric content, Koalas are largely sedentary and sleep up to 20 hours a day.
