Anne Arundel County Police and firefighters responded to “an incident” at the NSA campus at Fort Meade in Anne Arundel County in Maryland early Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Aerial images show what appears to be a black SUV with bullet holes in the windshield crashed into an NSA J-Wall with airbags deployed.
Details of the investigation were not clear, but Anne Arundel County Police reported a “possible shooting near NSA” on Twitter, and declared they are not the lead agency.
Fort Meade public affairs confirmed an incident is being investigated and didn’t have any other information at this time.
Maryland State Highway Administration shut down MD 32 in both directions at Canine Road in response. At 7:30 a.m. Wednesday southbound traffic on MD 32 appears to be the most affected by traffic congestion.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department assisted Fort Meade Fire Department, according to tweest by spokesman Russ Davies.
Beware of older news photos on social media that might have documented a crash in March 2015 when two men dressed as women tried to ram the secure entrance to Fort Meade with a stolen SUV. They were shot when they drove the SUV onto NSA property.
