Elderly Woman Killed by Her Own Pit Bull in Backyard Near Komensky Ave and 116th St, Alsip

An elderly woman was attacked and killed by her own pet pit bull, CBS 2’s Charlie De Mar reports.

Alsip police and firefighter/paramedics responded about Monday December 11, 2017 to a report of an elderly woman being mauled by a pit bull in a backyard near Komensky Avenue and 116th Street.

Police arrived to find a woman down on the ground with an aggressive “pit bull” nearby. Police say the dog was a 6-year-old pit bull that lived at the home with the woman, but the dod had to be destroyed for safety reasons.

Police and firefighter/paramedics worked to treat the woman’s injuries, but she died from extensive wounds from bites and holds by the dog.
