Suspect in Custody After Shooting Homicide on Lone Rock Rd in Unincorporated Grayslake

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office had a suspect in custody Sunday, wanted for the investigation of the shooting death of a Zion man found early Saturday morning fatally wounded in a home on Lone Rock Road in unincorporated Grayslake. The suspect was in custody less than 36 hours after the shooting death was discovered.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 1:36 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 to a report of shots fired in the block of 33300 Lone Rock Road in unincorporated Grayslake. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered a man critically wounded. A 30 year-old man, of Zion, Illinois, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Based on preliminary information, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting was not random.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division and Lake County Major Crime Task Force are investigating.
