Crash with One Person Seriously Injured on Northbound Route 53 South of Higgins Road, Schaumburg

Illinois State Police police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:07 PM Monday October 16, 2017 to a report of a 5-car crash with injuries, 42.032965, -88.030749 (Route 53 and Higgins Road Schaumburg, Il ) . Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a 5-car crash with injuries on northbound Route 53, just south of Higgins Road.

The first fire crew on arrival did not initially confirm a fire, as was reported to 9-11. Command reported two vehicles involved in the crash with one person seriously injured.

Firefighters later confirm there was no vehicle fire.

One patient transport and several medical refusals were expected about 5:23 PM.

One patient ready for transport to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by 5:37 p.m.
