Hanover Park police and firefighter/paramedics received a report about 7:35 a.m. Sunday July 9, 2017 that it appeared as though a neighbor passed away in a black vehicle in an apartment complex in the block of 7500 Bristol Lane. Firefighter/paramedics were not aware of any shots fired, but police report they were responding to shots fired call at the same time.
Police on the scene first reported they found a male gunshot wound patient, age 27, that was awake and breathing inside a vehicle. Police located the man with a gunshot wound about 7:35 a.m. in the 7500 block of Bristol Lane, northeast of the intersection of Barrington and Irving Park roads, according to Hanover Park police. A large grassy area near apartment/townhouses and near the victim’s vehicle was blocked off soon after police arrived.
Within about 7 minutes, Hanover Park’s ambulance departed the crime scene, and the man was transported to St. Alexius Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
