Illinois State Police, Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:56 AM Sunday July 9, 2017 to a report of a crash involving two vehicles near Route 53 and Biesterfield Rd Elk Grove Village. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a crash involved two vehicles with injuries. Police received a report that an off-duty police officer, nurse and doctor were on scene — reporting CPR underway on one motorist.
There was a report of a possible medical issue before the crash.
A second ambulance was requested at 6:59 a.m. — Ambulance 10 assigned.
Battalion Chief 2 on arrival reported a crash on the entrance ramp from Biesterfield Road to SB I-290/IL-53 with a light pole down on the ramp.
Quint 7 was assigned to block the ramp for safety, and fire command requested Elk Grove Village police also block the ramp.
Ambulance 7’s crew transported one patient Basic Light Support to Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
Ambulance 10’s crew transported one Advanced Life Support patient in cardiac arrest to Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
