Shooting Victim Near Palatine Walmart Was Shot in the Face; Listed Critical Last Night and Today

VIDEO: Shooting investigation at south entrance and parking lot after one person was shot at the Palatine Walmart on Rand Road near Dundee Road [VIEWER DISCRETION].

The victim that was shot about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday February 7, 2017 near the Walmart store, 1555 North Rand Road in Palatine was apparently outside the store when he was shot. Palatine police said the man was shot in the face, but they have not confirmed where the man was located when he was shot. When police arrived on the scene, immediately after the shooting, the injured man was sitting on the sidewalk outside the store near the south entrance. The man was immediately transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital by Palatine Fire Department firefighter/paramedics, where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.

There was considerable blood and bloody material near the entrance after the man was transported to the hospital.

Palatine police said Wednesday that no one has been charged, but that there are a few suspects being investigated.

Palatine police reported in a news release that they had recovered the vehicle used in the shooting, but didn’t provide any information about how the vehicle was used, or how the vehicle was identified as connected to the shooting.
