CHICAGO BEARS RADIO -- WBBM Newsradio 780 "Traffic on the 8's"

Buffalo Grove police received a report from a media source Monday February 6, 2017 of criminal damage to property and vandalism at Rolling Hills Park, 1850 Twin Oaks Blvd. Rolling Hills Park is located across Aptakisc Road about one block east and one block north of Congregation B’Nai Shalom.

An offender or offenders carved anti-Semitic graffiti into a plastic slide at a Buffalo Grove park. The graffiti appeared to be a graphic of a swastika inside the Star of David.

A Buffalo Park District crew removed the symbols from the slide after Buffalo Grove police collected evidence and photographs for investigation. Police also searched other parks in Buffalo Grove for vandalism, but no other vandalism was discovered.

There have been numerous anti-Semitic incidents reported recently, locally and nationwide.

The Chicago Loop Synagogue was vandalized on Saturday, February 4, 2017 as a man pulled up in a black SUV, plastered swastika stickers on the building, and shattered a window at the synagogue with a tool that looked like an axe.

A swastika was found carved into a wooden bench at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, according to Skokie police.

On Tuesday morning January 31, 2017, a bomb threat was made to the Elaine Frank JCC Apachi Day Camp at 23280 North Old McHenry Road in unincorporated Lake Zurich.

KKK flyers, described as having racist content, were discovered on streets in Park Forest and Manteno during late January and early February, 2017. Anti-Semitism was not specifically mentioned in the flyers.

A suspected computer hacking crime involving networked printers on the campuses of three universities in California resulted in anti-Semitic flyers being distributed via the printers. The rogue printing was reported at Stanford, Vanderbilt and UC Berkeley.

Early December 2016, a neo-Nazi group claimed responsibility for hanging posters of Adolf Hitler in a field of swastikas on the University of Chicago campus. The posters also include the hate group’s name, Atomwaffen Division, as well as the slogans “#Hitler Disapproves” and “No Degeneracy, No Tolerance, Hail Victory.”
