Utility Pole Snapped in Half on West Central Rd Near Dwyer Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:13 PM Tuesday to a report of a downed utility pole with downed power lines near 1625 West Central Road Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a 50 foot utility pole snapped in half with power lines attached.

Power lines were down across Central Road and/or Dwyer Avenue.

Also, low-hanging high voltage power lines down across Central Road near Dwyer Avenue.

Several medical professional offices were affected and were being evacuated.

ComEd called to the scene an Central Road blocked in both directions. ComEd is reporting only 5 customers without service, and an estimated restoration time of 7:30 p.m.

Entrance and exiting to Northwest Community Hospital from the west is inaccessible.
