Galen Denney said the protest event at the Indianapolis airport was not about disrupting flights, traffic or commerce at the airport. Protesters amassed at major airports across the nation Saturday — Chicago, thousands of demonstrators gathered at O’Hare International Airport. In New York, more than 2,000 gathered protesters at JFK Airport chanting, “Let them in!” At LAX, 200 protesters, shouted, “No Trump, No KKK, No fascist USA.”
Sunday’s “emergency press conference and rally” will be held at O’Hare Airport’s international terminal in the departures area at 6 p.m.
The New York Taxi Workers Alliance has announced on Twitter that it is halting passenger pickups at JFK airport in protest of the dozens of people detained under President Trump’s Muslim immigration ban.
The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries.
