Wheeling police responded about 11:23 AM Thursday after a police officer spotted a vehicle and occupants wanted for a shots fired investigation at Wheeling Road and Town Street, Wheeling, IL. Wheeling police spotted a silver Volkswagen Jetta near Wheeling Road and Town Street after an alert went out to area police about 10:20 a.m. that a vehicle and occupants were possibly involved in a shots fired incident about 10:08 a.m. near Algonquin Road and Algonquin Parkway in Rolling Meadows.
Wheeling police stopped the Jetta, apparently without incident or injuries by about 11:24 a.m. At least four suspects were in custody, and transferred to the custody of Rolling Meadows police officers who arrived immediately on the scene of the traffic stop.
Rolling Meadows police had received a report that two offenders were involved in shots fired from a vehicle about 10:08 a.m. in Rolling Meadows.
Rolling Meadows police and area police were investigating a report of shots fired near the Algonquin Business Center (2275 Algonquin Road) across from the Southland Shopping Center strip mall in Rolling Meadows.
The offender’s vehicle was described as a silver Volkswagen Jetta 4-door missing a driver’s side rear hubcap. The vehicle had been last seen westbound on Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows.
Police initially received a report that two male/Hispanic occupants were in the vehicle.
