Aerial footage shows aftermath of deadly car crash on icy Michigan interstate that left 3 dead and nearly a dozen injured
Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning to a crash involving 53 vehicles that killed three people. The crash on westbound Interstate 96 occurred near Fowlerville, Michigan, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified two of the three people killed as Homer Leon Tew, 69, and Theresa O’Connor Tew, 62 — married couple from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Police did not release the identity of the third victim — a 28-year-old man from Hollywood, Florida — because they were not immediately able to notify the next of kin.
Eastbound I-96 at M-52 was closed for several hours rescuers responders accessed the scene. Westbound I-96 between M-59 and M-52 remained closed until about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The crash on westbound I-96 was between Fowlerville Road and Wallace Road.

State Highway Patrol police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:45 p.m. Thursday after crash occurred when a jackknifed truck caused a chain-reaction crash on eastbound I-90 between Ohio 44 and Vrooman Road.
The exact number of injured people was not available, but three people suffered injuries classified as critical. Twenty commercial vehicles, 22 private vehicles and a Greyhound bus were involved in the crash.
The westbound lanes of I-90 between Ohio 44 and Ohio 528 reopened just before 2 a.m. Friday. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department reported on their official Facebook page that the Eastbound I-90 was opened just before 5 a.m.
Authorities say an interstate east of Cleveland is open again after a pileup of about 50 vehicles in snowy conditions shut down the highway for more than 14 hours. (Dec. 9)
