Anti-Trump Protesters Gather Outside Trump Tower, State Street, Wacker Drive, Chicago

Protesters are marching in the streets of Chicago’s Loop while chanting, blocking traffic, surrounding cars, and jumping on cars. Protesters were heard chanting “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho; Donald Trump has got to go.” Protesters were seen crossing the Chicago River near Trump Tower and were asked by Chicago Police to move to the corner of Wacker Drive and Wabash Ave and Wabash Place. Many protesters were also located on State Street south of Wacker Drive near Chicago Theatre.

There were also reports of people trashing a store on Wabash Avenue, and a person hit by a car. Chicago police in a helicopter observing crowds have estimated up to 5,000 protesters in the streets

At about 6:40 p.m. 1,000 protesters were reported in movement southbound on State Street from Wacker Drive.

About 2,000 protesters were reported heading eastbound on Washington near Wacker Drive a short time later.

Many of the protesters, most who appeared to be in their 20s, told reporters they’re angered by the election results.
