Robbery, Attempted Robbery at Warrenville Hotels; Man Wearing “Scream” Mask

Warrenville police responded about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday to a report of an armed robbery at the Hyatt House Hotel at 27554 Maecliff Drive.

A man, dressed in all black and wearing a mask from the movie “Scream” entered around the hotel and displayed a knife, demanded money from the desk clerk, and then fled with cash.

Police responded a short time later to an alarm at the Residence Inn, 28500 Bella Vista Parkway. Police believe the same man, armed with a knife, demanded money from the desk clerk. in the second armed robbery, the offender fled without receiving any cash.

No injuries were reported in either crime.

Surveillance video shows the suspect is about 6’0″ 230 LBS.

In both crimes, the offender was wearing a black hoodie, pants and gloves, and black Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star gym shoes with white laces and a rubber sole.
