Eight Stabbed at Crossroads Center Mall in St Cloud Minnesota — Offender “Referenced Allah” Killed by Off-Duty Officer

Eight people were injured in a stabbing attack at a mall in Minnesota Saturday night. Police say the suspect was shot and killed by an off-duty officer.

St Cloud police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:00 p.m. Saturday September 17, 2016 to the Crossroads Center Mall after a man wearing a private security company uniform stabbed eight people, and was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.

Seven wounded stabbing victims were treated and released, while one victim remained hospitalized hospitalized overnight with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.

The stabbing attacks occurred in multiple locations inside the mall, including the common area and inside several stores. Police reported in a statement that witnesses reported the man entered Crossroads Mall on Saturday night, made a reference to Allah and asked at least one person if they were Muslims before he attacked.

Crossroads Center Mall employs unarmed security officers. An off-duty police officer shot and killed the offender. “The individual we believe to be responsible for the victim’s stab wounds is currently deceased inside the mall,” police said early Sunday.
