Chicago Bears are bringing a little “Friday night lights” — to training camp this year, taking their practice to Warren Township High School in Gurnee on Aug. 20, 2016 for a free practice event open to the public.
Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. for the “Varsity Bears High School Takeover,” which includes activities for the family as well as a Bears practice session. Practice is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to about 7:45 p.m. The evening wraps up with fireworks at 8:15 p.m.
Entry is free but attendees need to reserve a mobile ticket in advance, and availability is limited. Tickets are delivered via cell phone mobile device only and must be presented on your cell phone/mobile device for entry.
Seating is first-come, first-served, and there are a limited number of bleacher seats, but lawn chairs will be allowed in designated areas.
Warren Township High School is located at 500 N. O’Plaine Road in Gurnee. Free parking will be available at the following locations: Gowe Park parking lot off McClure Avenue and DesPlaines River Trail; Gurnee Village Hall off O’Plaine Road and Hayner Avenue; and the Warren Newport Library off O’Plaine Road and Brookhaven Road. Tailgating is permitted, but alcohol, smoking and open flames are not allowed at any of the parking lots.
