A man was reported shot inside a vehicle while on IL-53/I-290 most likely somewhere between Woodfield Road and Interstate 90. The man was transported in a personal vehicle, and no firefighter/paramedics were called to the scene on Route 53. Illinois State Police troopers responded to the scene after they were notified by Northwest Community Hospital staff that there was a gunshot victim in the emergency department.
Illinois State Police did not provide any details on a vehicle description of the victim, the shooter, or the direction of travel of either vehicle, or whether the offender’s vehicle was seen exiting IL-53/I-290 or not. Also, no suspect descriptions were available. The age of the victim or the location of the gunshot wound was also not described by Illinois State Police. Apparently, some of the important details, such as the motive for the shooting, are not known by police. Apparently, the victim and/or any witness or witnesses are not talking.
Illinois State Police also do not post real-time incident notifications on any social media websites, such as Twitter or Facebook, and did not release any immediate information for this incident. The Village of Schaumburg also did not provide any real-time notification about ramp closures in their jurisdiction.
Illinois State Police later stated that the victim’s story about the incident was confusing.
