Chicago police and fire department paramedics responded about 1:30 p.m. to the block of 5700 South California Avenue for a check for well-being call. Six people were found dead in a home — apparent victims with stab wounds. Four men, one woman and one child were among the fatally wounded victims. No victims were immediately transported from the residence.
Police confirmed a homicide investigation is underway at the address in the Gage Park neighborhood on Chicago’s Southwest Side. The block is mostly single family homes.
