Northbrook police responded Monday morning to a report from family members that an 83-year-old woman, Olga Villareal, was missing. She was found dead Monday afternoon less than a half-mile from her home.

Northbrook officials had asked for the public’s help about 9 a.m. Monday, and posted information on their website. Villareal, who had last been seen by her family near Pfingsten Road and Maria Avenue around 8 p.m. Sunday, died of causes related to heart disease, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

According to the medical examiner’s office, Villareal also suffered from dementia and diabetes.

Her body was found by a surveyor at 4:18 p.m. Monday about a half-block north of that location, in a field on Pfingsten Road just south of the Edens Spur (I-94), at 4:18 p.m.
