Chicago firefighters, paramedics, and police responded to Indiana Avenue and 127th Street about 3:13 p.m. Tuesday to a report of an electrocution victim on top of a Metra Electric rail car in the railyard. Firefighters worked to get the area de-energized before attempting to rescue the victim. Within minutes the area was declared a crime scene.
Metra officials say the body was discovered on top of a retired electric railcar.
Firefighters stood by in case they were needed by police, who began to investigate the crime scene after the area was de-energized.
The body found at the Metra Electric Kensington Railyard is the body of missing British tourist Ademola Owolana, a family spokesperson confirmed. Owolana, age 26, had been missing since early Saturday morning after leaving a club called Low Key in West Pullman. Originally from London, he was in Chicago to visit relatives.
Owolana’s family had been searching for him since Saturday.
