As Fannie May Moves to Old Subway Unit, Egg Harbor Will Expand to Chocolate Space

#ad▼

Some good news and bad news with Egg Harbor in downtown Arlington Heights, 140 East Wing Street. The good news is that the breakfast/lunch restaurant is expanding and getting a kitchen makeover and dining room makeover. The bad news is the restaurant will be closed February 22, 2016 through March 4, 2016.

During phase one, which will temporarily close the restaurant from February 22 through March 4, extensive work will be done to the kitchen, which hasn’t received significant upgrades since the restaurant opened in 1988. In the main dining room, new floors and carpet will be added.

Phase two will involve expansion of Egg Harbor in March or April into the space occupied by chocolate store Fannie May, which is moving to the former Subway space, 114 East Wing Street. Construction crews will be able to build out the new space without interrupting operating hours. The only interruption will be the construction of a door opening between the existing restaurant and the new expanded area, which is expected to add about 25 dining seats with tables.

There were some rumors that Egg Harbor was taking the end unit adjacent to Evergreen Avenue, but that unit at 100-102 E. Wing Street is undergoing build out construction for a new fitness studio known as the Barre Code.
