Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:40 AM Saturday of a theft at Comfort Inn, 2120 South Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders removed the spare tire from the victim’s 2015 white Chevy Colorado pickup truck.
The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the police report.
Arlington Heights Police Department did not specify the apparent unique circumstances of opportunity for this crime. Was the owner changing the tire with the spare temporarily outside — unattended and unsecured — for nine minutes? Or did the owner just happen to check on his spare twice in a nine minute period?
