Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:49 AM Sunday to Arlington Heights Road and Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a blown transformer with arcing and sparks seen at the “northwest corner” near Hillside Towing.
Hillside Towing is on the northeast corner.
A few minutes later downed power lines were reported across Rand Road just north of Palatine Road.
Rand Road is blocked to traffic in both direction near Palatine Road at least until ComEd arrives.
ComEd reports only 12 customers affected by the lines down and the estimated restore time is 9:45 AM.
